Stuart Curnow, Bill Hunter, Doug Howard, Jan Curnow and Tracey Sims competed in the Moutere Inn Road Relay on Saturday. The event is organised by Athletics Nelson and it was first contested last year as a trial run over the course used for the National Road Relay Champs. The relay comprises five legs over a challenging undulating, hilly course which winds its way along a number of roads to finish outside the historic Moutere Inn. The most testing hill is Jacobs Ladder which comes at the end of Leg 2.
The Marlborough team finished 8th overall and 4th in the Mixed Run division. A combined time of 2hrs 56min 54sec. for the 38km course.
A big thank-you to Bill for putting the team together. Nelson has always supported the Queen Charlotte Relay so it was nice to have a club presence in Moutere.
