A large contingent of club members contested the Christchurch Airport Marathon, half marathon and associated events on Sunday morning. They joined more than 4000 other runners and walkers on the start-line at Cathedral Square. It was the first time that the event had been held in the city centre since the devastating 2011 earthquakes.
The half marathon doubled as the NZ Championship and this was contested by Robbie Barnes and Tracey Sims. Margaret Hazelwood won the W60-69 Age Group over 42.2km distance. Robbie Barnes and Don Bate collected top-10 placings in the M50-59 Age Group in their respective races. Megan Kain ran her first half marathon.
